    7:45 am - buses load
    8:00 am - buses leave for Portland
    5:15-5:30 pm - buses return to Cal Young

       and research notes.

History:

       Focus on General Grant, Lee. and Petraeus
       Read and write short answers to the prompts
            (hot pen research)
       Use the listed links for help
    HW - complete one general tonight as homework
       Bring all work to class tomorrow

          Use your notes and knowledge to respond to
       prompts about leadership.
   
Civil War Timelines:  many students are missing the timeline
    project.  The timelines will be used for an assessment.

          turned in with your final edited copy

       -if approved, continue to rehearse and time
          your speech  (3 min. - 5 min.)

    Write 5 category cards for your team
       -see the overhead for more details
    Challenge each side with the cards
       -points are given to the winning side

            Your voice and body are your best tools!

    Present and discuss the 4 traits that are scored
    Video - watch and score a student's speech

    HW - begin to plan/write your speech
       1.  choose your topic  (it is part of your research)
       2.  details
       3.  3 minutes long - not over 5 minutes long
       4.  intro -  what could be your intro? 
    Bring work to class tomorrow

History:

    Timelines and notes are due today!
       Make sure that your name is clearly on both papers
    If you have a late timeline - try to get it in over the
       next two days.  My room is open before and after
       school for work.

          my classroom will not be open
       -computer time will be available 2nd lunch
